The Borough of Elmwood Park, NJ recently completed installation on a new GameTime playground at Cherry Hill Park. The existing equipment at Cherry Hill was dated and in need of repair or replacement. MRC’s New Jersey playground designer, Mike Nowak, worked with the Borough’s Donna Puglisi, Elmwood Park’s Recreation Director, to design the project. Mike and Donna have worked closely over the past ten years rejuvenating Elmwood Park’s recreation areas.

The playground consists of a roofed playground structure that incorporates both slides and a climbing wall. The play area also has a double-bay swing with four swings ranging from belt seats to tot seats. The playground safety surfacing used on the project was poured-in-place rubber (PIP). PIP is one of the best surfaces for ADA accessibility and offers a wide range of colors and design capabilities. Although PIP carries one of the highest initial investment costs, it is often offset by the lower maintenance costs over the life of the product and the playground.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with The Borough of Elmwood Park, NJ in the future, upgrading more of their parks and playgrounds!
