Park goers in Middle Township, NJ are being welcomed by a new GameTime playground, a band shell and a restroom facility at Robert “Ockie” Wisting park. The town worked with MRC as well as Remington & Vernick Engineers of Cape May, NJ to design all three of the parks’ new structures.
MRC’s park designer Mike Nowak was the point of contact on the project and worked closely with Remington & Vernick throughout. Middle Township was seeking a smaller playground with a natural theme. Aside from the natural color scheme used, we also incorporated tree stump steppers as well as a mushroom themed picnic table with seats. Both the steppers and the table are manufactured using glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), which is an extremely strong and durable material that can be easily molded into desired shapes prior to hardening. The play space was finished off with poured in place rubber safety surfacing to provide a high level of safety throughout the use zone of the playground.
In tandem with RCP Shelters from Stuart, FL, we also designed and manufactured a wood band shell with custom framing as well as a new restroom facility for the park. RCP has been manufacturing outdoor shelters and gazebos since 1957 and have become a trusted resource of ours at MRC. Whether we have a customer seeking wood or metal, custom or standard, large or small, RCP always has a solution that fits ours and our customers’ needs.
Robert “Oakie” Wisting park is ready for action and we are happy to be a part of it!
