Monroe 2 BOCES in Spencerport NY, 3599 Big Tree Road, finally has their much awaited for inclusive playground, including a ramped structure with tactile and sensory activities as well as a motion “Rock n Raft” that allows all children to celebrate play together, including children in mobility devises. Other exciting elements include a Merry-Go All, fun musical instruments, a swing that allows children to sit or lie on, and special poured in place surfacing for easy accessibility for all. This playground addition coincides with the BOCES expansion project and was greatly needed to serve an increased enrollment.

About the project’s playground safety surfacing: A popular unitary surface choice, Poured in Place (PIP) Rubber is one of the best surfaces for ADA accessibility. A wide range of colors allows you to add an element of graphic fun to the playground by creating inlaid shapes and themed designs.

PIP utilizes trained and certified installation crews to produce a surface that is attractive and durable. Although PIP carries one of the highest initial investment costs, it is often offset by lower maintenance costs over the life of the product.
